Special Trip Offerings for Summer 2008

This summer, Oranim is proud to offer the following community or university partnered trips! When applying for these trips, be sure to select the specific trip you're interested in on the Trip Selection form.

Massachusetts Trip Offerings

Oranim and the Boston's Combined Jewish Philanthropies have teamed up to run a special Taglit-Birthright Israel trip EXCLUSIVELY for Boston and MA area students! If you are a student of Brandeis, UMass Amherst / 5 Colleges, Northeastern, or a student or resident of the Boston area, you are eligible! Join others from the greatest city on the East Coast on a whirlwind tour of Israel. We'll visit the Northern city of Haifa (Boston's Partnership 2000 city) and learn how it is recovering after the recent conflict with Lebanon, hike Masada, swim in the Dead Sea and spend Shabbat in Jerusalem and even visit Eilat -- Israel's Cancun! As part of the fantastic experience, we'll spend part of the trip with Israeli soldiers exploring the differences between life in America and life in Israel. From the Charles River to the Jordan River... this is a trip not to be missed!

Note: Your school/current address or parents' home address must be in the United States and you must be a student or resident of the Boston or UMass Amherst / 5 Colleges areas.


Combined Jewish Philanthropies is offering three unique trips this Summer!

Boston Community (21-): Geared for undergrad students, this trip is expected to run with a departure the week of May 25-31*.

Boston Grad Students: Geared for graduate students, this trip is expected to run with a departure the week of June 1-7*.

Boston Young Prof. (22+): Geared for the young professional, this trip is expected to run with a departure the week of June 8-14*.

The Hillel at Brandeis is offering trips for all Brandeis students (and friends) with an expected departure the week of May 18-24*.

The Florence & Chafetz Hillel House at Boston University is proud to be offering all students at Boston University (and friends) three different trip offerings.

Departures are expected during the weeks of May 25-31*, June 29-July 5*, and August 3-9*.

Northeastern University is offering two unique trips for all Northeastern University students (and friends), specifically designed to work with your co-op schedules.

Departures are expected April 25* and August 20*.

Through the unique partnership of the Five Colleges, all students at Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College and UMass Amherst (and friends) are being offered two unique trips this summer.

Departures are expected during the weeks of June 15-21* and August 17-23*.

Orange County Area Young Professionals and Graduates
Oranim and Jewish Federation Orange County have teamed up to run this EXCLUSIVE Taglit-Birthright Israel trip for Orange County young adults ages 21-26! Since everyone of the trip is from the OC, you'll return with a whole new circle of friends!

Trip highlights include:

  • Visits to all of Israel's major sites: Jerusalem, exciting Tel Aviv, Masada the mountain-top fortress, Eilat (Israel's Cancun) and we'll even tour Orange County's sister city Kiryat Malachi.
  • Experience the Bedouin lifestyle - ride a camel & spend the night in a Bedouin tent.
  • "Mifgash" (encounter): Learn first-hand about life in Israel from your Israeli peers.
  • Float in the Dead Sea, kayak down the Jordan River, hike in the Golan Heights and desert canyons, beach time and much more!

Jewish Federation of San Diego County Young Adults
Oranim and United Jewish Federation of San Diego County have teamed up to run a special Taglit-Birthright Israel trip EXCLUSIVELY for San Diego County young adults ages 22-26! If you are working in San Diego or attending Graduate School in San Diego, you are eligible!

Join others from America's Finest City on a whirlwind tour of Israel. We'll visit the Sha'ar HaNegev Region of Israel, San Diego's Partnership 2000 city, and learn how it is dealing with the current conflict in nearby Gaza, hike Masada, swim in the Dead Sea and spend Shabbat in Jerusalem and even visit Eilat -- Israel's Cancun! As part of this fantastic experience, we'll spend part of the trip with Israeli soldiers exploring the differences between life in America and life in Israel.

If you want to spend time before, during and after with fellow San Diegans, this trip was designed for you!

Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix
Oranim and Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix have teamed up to run a special Taglit-Birthright Israel trip EXCLUSIVELY for Phoenix area residents and surrounding communities.

In essence, this is exactly what Taglit-Birthright Israel is-a free, intensive, 10-day, awesome trip to the most fascinating, exciting and dynamic country on earth - the State of Israel. This free, "no strings attached" gift from Taglit-Birthright Israel is open to Phoenix area residents (and surrounding communities). Designed especially for the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, the Valley of the Sun JCC and ASU Hillel, this 10-day, free trip includes a special emphasis on Israel's cultural diversity, plus:
